This sculpture is one of a series which I am calling 'handables'. As the name suggests, handibles are objects to be handled. They are extremely warm and tactile, and the aim is to create a feeling of comfort for anyone who picks one up. My forms are inspired largely by nature, and although my pieces are not netsuke, I have had admiration for netsuke for many years and this is reflected in some of my carvings. This particular carving has a flow to it which Will has captured really well. If you want to see more of my work visit https://www.threemarchhares.com.
